The campout is at the Tama Hills Recreation Area (a US military facility) in Inagi-shi, Tokyo.
The nearest station is Minamitama on the Nambu line and it is about a 15 minute walk from the station to the gate of the Rec Area. The recreation area itself is a sprawling acreage and the campsite we have booked is shown on the map of the Tama Hills Recreation Area.
It takes less than one hour by train from Shinjuku to Minamitama Station on the JR Nambu Line.

It generally takes 1 hour or so by car from Shinjuku, depending of course on the traffic—a good map is highly recommended. Check here for some general maps of the area.
Note: The Tama Hills Recreation Area is spread over hundreds of acres – coming by car is the preferred way to make the most of your time there.
